Clayton County Register, Thur., 25 Sept. 1930.

Mrs. Louise Bandow, nee Radloff, passed away at the Grandview hospital, LaCrosse, Wis., Wednesday, Sept. 17th, 1930, at 7:10 a.m. The Monday before, Sept. 15th, she had submitted to an operation from which she rallied nicely until uremic poisoning developed. All that loving care and medical skill could do was done to prolong the life of the beloved but it was all in vain. At the time of her death she had reached the age of fifty-eight years, six months and fourteen days.

The deceased was born in Germany, March 3, 1872, and as a baby migrated with her parents to this country, locating in Read township, Clayton County, Iowa. Here she grew to womanhood and on April 17, 1891 she was united in marriage to Gottfred Bandow, who preceded her in death, February 25, 1923. The couple located on the Bandow homestead in Boardman township and continued on the farm until 1903 at which time they moved to Elkader, which was to be their home for the remainder of their lives. She is survived by six children, Elmer and Ray, of Intake, Mont., Mrs. Grace Orvis, St. Olaf; Mrs. Lucy Moellering, Garnavillo, and LeRoy and Alice of Elkader. Eight grandchildren also survive as do two sisters, Mary (Mrs. Fred Mueller) of St. Olaf; Emma (Mrs. Mueller) of St. Olaf; Emma (Mrs. Henry Harnack) of Waterloo and three brothers, Charley of Postville, William of Farmersburg and Louis of Read township. A brother-in-law, Carl Bandow, has made his home with the deceased for the past several years.

She was a member of the Evangelical church of this place and a charter member of the Frauen Verein. She was well and favorably known in this community, a kind and loving mother and will be greatly missed by a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held at the home and in the Evangelical church last Saturday afternoon and interment was made in the East Side cemetery, the members of the Frauen Verein attending in a group. The Rev. C. H. Franke officiated at the services.
