Mary C. Muller, nee Harnack, was born near Farmersburg on March 8, 1872, and died at her home near Monona on Feb. 2, 1930. The early years of her life were spent with her parents on a farm. On March 28, 1898, she was united in marriage to William Muller. After living in this vicinity for nine years they moved to Plankington, S.D., where they farmed for a period of thirteen years, and then returned to Monona, where she spent the remainder of her life. She had been in failing health for about a year but she bore the trial of ill health with patience.
One child preceded the mother in death in infancy. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband and four children, namely, Mrs. Hugo Zahn, of McGregor, Katherine, Franz and Louis. at home; one grandchild, five brothers, Ernest Harnack of Corsaca, S.D., August and Louis, of Monona, Henry Harnack of Roseda, Cal., Frank Harnack of Remsen, Iowa, and two sisters, Mrs. J. P. Lenth and Lydia Harnack, both of Monona.
Funeral services were held at the Monona Pilgrim Evangelical church on Feb. 4, and interment was made in the city cemetery. Rev. R. W. Berg officiated.
