Mrs. Chas. H. Adams passed away Saturday afternoon, Jan. 25, at the home of her son, W. F. Adams.
Violette McKinney, the daughter of George and Alvina McKinney, was born Nov. 13, 1856, near Taylorsville, Iowa. At the age of one year she accompanied her parents to Missouri, where they lived about ten years, after which they moved back to Iowa, which state has been the home of the deceased ever since. On Nov. _9, 1879 she was united in marriage with Chas. H. Adams and to this union six children were born, four daughters and two sons.
Her husband preceded her in death twelve years ago and one daughter, sixteen years ago. She leaves to mourn her departure five children, Elsie Upton, of Volga, Burt, of Bagley, Wis., Henrietta Astrim, W. T. Adams, of Volga and D. W. Adams of Clayton, Iowa. One sister, Mrs. Sarah Harwick, of Rochester, Minn., also survives besides a number of nieces and nephews, seventeen grandchildren and a large number of friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon, Jan. 28 at 2 o'clock at the Presbyterian church. Rev. A. B. Chamberlain officiated. Interment was made in Hill Crest cemetery. Out of town relatives in attendance were Mrs. Jake Adams, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Forsythe, of Strawberry Point; Mrs. Sarah Harwick and Mrs. Grover Moore, of Rochester, Minn.; Wm. Harwick of Casson, Minn.; John Harwick of Steel Mound, Ill.; Phobe Purt, of Bagley, Wis., and D. W. Adams of Clayton.
