Elkader Register, Thur., 16 Dec. 1920. Strawberry Point column.
The death of Mrs. Tillman Duncan occurred at her home on east Misson Street Sunday evening after a lingering illness. Some time ago she suffered paralytic strokes and she knew the end was near and was not afraid to die. Besides her husband there are eight children left to morn the loss of a good and kind mother: Henry of Waterloo, James of Guttenberg, Tim of Anamosa, Will of Lamont, Albert of this place, Mrs. Emma Andrus of Manly, Nebr., Mrs. Minnie Moser, of Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Carrie Kramer, of Edgewood, and Mrs. Nora Mullen of Anamosa. All were at her bedside when she passed away except their son James who was unable to get here but he and his wife came Monday evening. Funeral services will be held in the M.E. church Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev. Kirby and the remains laid to rest in our beautiful cemetery.
(Note: The obit states she was survived by eight children, but nine are named in it as shown.)
