On March 2_ (23 or 25), occurred the death of Anton Wachendorf at his home here aged 62 years. He was found dead in bed by his wife. At the inquest held by Dr. Palmer and Coronor Beerman they announced heart failure as the cause of his sudden death. He is survived by his wife, two stepsons, and three stepdaughters: Mrs. Elsie Frey, of Dubuque; Ruby Tinkey, John and Ferman, at home, and Mrs. Alice Hammond of Littleport and five brothers and one sister, Fred, of Westphalia; William, at home, Maggie Schmidt, of Dubuque; Mrs. Kate Schimmel, of Cresco, and Christine Franz, of Iona Lake, Minnesota.
