Elkader Register, Thur., 19 Feb. 1920. Volga column.

It was with sad hearts that the people of Volga and vicinity heard Thursday that Fred Davis had passed away at his home south of town at one o'clock. He had been sick such a short time but that dread disease pneumonia had fastened its grip on him and developed rapidly. The loved ones that are left have the sympathy of the entire community in this, their sad affliction.
