The remains of Miss Lizzie Brown aged 67 years an inmate of the asylumn at Independence were brought here Saturday evening. Funeral services occurred in the Baptist church Monday afternoon conducted by Rev. Smith pastor of the M.E. church. Miss Brown was a daughter of Rev. and Mrs. Brown, her father several years ago being the Baptist minister. Miss Brown taught in the rural district and in one of the rooms in our public school. Her brothers George of Gary, Indiana and Will of Indianapolis, Indiana were here for the funeral. besides her brothers she leaves two sisters, Mrs. Underwood, of Sheldon, Ia. and Mrs. Sarah Carr, of Washington, D.C. The remains were laid to rest beside her parents in the local cemetery.
