Norma Magdalena Krieg was born May 13th, 1883, at Littleport, Iowa, and lived with her parents until July 23rd, 1902, when she was united in marriage with John Monnahan at Oelwein, where they lived two years. Later they moved to Boardman township and from there to Elkader, where she passed away at her home on the evening of December 26th, 1915, at 11:05 o'clock, at the age of 32 years, 7 months and 13 days. To them were born six children, four daughters and two sons, the oldest, Margret, a girl of 12 years, Eunice, Mildred, Anna, John and Francis, the baby, aged 2 years, who, with the husband, the aged father and mother, two sisters and three brothers, Anna, Alma Wacker, Adolph, Henry and Helmuth are left to mourn her departure. Two sisters, Mathilda and Bertha, preceded her in death, the former on January 3rd, 1909, the latter November 19th, 1911. The bereaved families have the heartfelt sympathy of the entire community.
The funeral services were held at the German church, Tuesday morning, at 10:00 o'clock, conducted by Rev. C. H. Franke, and the remains taken to Mederville for interment.
