Celia Wood Westfall was born in Ellicotville, N.Y., on September 13th, 1843, and died in Los Angeles, Cal., October 7th, 1915, aged 72 years and 24 days. Her mother died when she was quite young and at the age of 14 years she and her father moved to Strawberry Point, Iowa, to make their home on the farm with her brother, H. N. Wood. On January 19th, 1866, she was married to John C. Westfall. Soon after their marriage they moved to Dubuque, remaining there but a few years. Then they moved to Waterloo, Iowa, which place was their home for more than thirty years. Two children were born to them, Cora, now Mrs. F. D. Carney, and Minnie, now Mrs. Thomas Barrows. After the death of Mr. Westfall in March, 1900, she moved to Los Angeles, Cal., to make her home with her two daughters and her two grandchildren, who survive her. The funeral services were conducted in Los Angeles, Cal., after which the remains were brought to Strawberry Point, Iwa, accompanied by the two daughters. Interment was made in our beautiful cemetery beside her husband.
