John H. Heitman, one of the early settlers of Guttenberg, died suddenly on Friday evening, May 21st., while being busy at home. Death came by apoplexy. He was 76 years of age and for many years was a Justice of the Peace of Jefferson township, and in his younger years following the occupation of a plasterer. He is survived by his wife and four daughters by his first marriage and by two daughters by a second marriage. Interment took place Monday in the city cemetery.
