Latham, Randolph A. died 1859

DIED - At McGregor, on Wednesday, Sept. 8th, Randolph A., son of W.T. and Jane Latham, aged about 6 years.

The circumstances attending this death are of an unusually melancholy character. Little Randolph was drowned; it is supposed by falling off the Ferry Dock into the river.

During Wednesday afternoon and Thursday till towards evening, parties were dragging and examining the river in ever direction, the parents in the mean time distracted with a suspense which was more terrible than the reality.

After all hope of his recovery had been abandoned by others, the unhappy father determined to make one more search and in the second cast of his grapel the body of his little son came up to the boat!

The bereaved parents have the unfeighned sympathies of the public.
