Elkader Register, 24 Sept. 1885.

DIED - At his home near Lttleport, on September 14th, 1885, occurred the death of Thomas Culligan; aged 18 years and 10 months. The funeral occurred on Wednesday from the Catholic church at Littleport, and the body was laid away to its final rest in the Catholic cemetery at that place. He was a kind son and brother, and was highly respected by all who knew him. He had been a patient sufferer for four years with consumption. He leaves many friends to mourn his loss. May he rest in peace.
