DIED - At the home of her husband near Volga City, on Friday, April 11th, 1885, after a long and severe sickness, Christina, wife of George Renkert, at the age of 54 years. Deceased was an estimable Christian lady, and had numerous friends who will mourn her loss from among them. She was an native of Klaen-Vargula, near Langensalzer, Saxony, where she was born December 20th, 1831. She came to the United States with her parents some twenty-eight years ago, and was married to Mr. Renkert one year after her arrival in this country. she leaves a husband and three children to mourn the loss of an affectionate wife and kind mother. The funeral occurred on Sunday last, her remains being laid away to their final rest in the east side cemetery at Elkader. A large number of friends and relatives attended the funeral, and Rev. Seifert officiated at the grave.
Scarcely had the sorrowing friends returned home from this sad occasion when they received the announcement of the death of Mrs. George Renkert, Jr.
