Elkader Register, 04 Feb. 1885. Elkport column.

Mrs. Braener, wife of the pastor of the German Lutheran church, died on the 25th, of dropsy, after a long and painful sicknes. She was highly respected by all, and her death will be sincerely mourned. She leaves a husband and three children to mourn the loss of a kind and affectionate wife and mother. The funeral occurred on the 28th, and was largely attended.
