Norman Eugene Mueller, 92, of Luana, Iowa passed away on Thursday, June 16, 2022 at his home. Norman was born to Henry F.W. and Margaret Lena (Ziegler) Mueller on August 27, 1929. He attended Luana schools until eighth grade. Norman worked for Brandt Farms and George Walter, before joining the United States Army, where he served honorably in infantry and anti-aircraft during the Korean conflict. After leaving the Army he went to work for the railroad, then for Peglow Ford & Mercury before going to work for the town of Luana where he retired in the late 90’s. Not ready for retirement, he worked part time at Luana Tap.
Norman loved spending time with his family, gardening, fishing time at Harpers Ferry and enjoyed outdoor activities.
Surviving Norman are his children, Eugene Mueller, David (Brenda) Mueller and Toni (Dale Bugenhagen) Martins; six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and five step great-grandchildren; three great great step grandchildren; sisters, Donnabelle (Herb) Hartz, Connie Lenth; sister-in-law, Mae Mueller.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaret “Maggie”; brothers, Ronald, Henry (Sonny) and Rodger; sister, Marlene Weiser; son-in-law, Brian Martins; niece, Sherry Henning; and a nephew Tim Mueller.
Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 22, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Leonard-Grau Funeral Home, 500 W. Center St., Monona, 52159. There will also be a one hour visitation before services at the church on Thursday.
A Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, June 23, 2022 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 307 Church St., Luana, IA 52156.
Burial will follow at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery in Luana, Iowa.
Leonard-Grau Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Monona, Iowa is assisting the family with arrangements.
