Elkader Register, Fri., 18 Apr. 1884. Volga column.
Frank Ensign, who resided in the St. John neighborhood, this township, died very suddenly on the 9th inst., after a sickness of only 24 hours, leaving a wife and four small children. There was an indebtedness on his property of about $200., which the neighbors raised by subscriptions. Such gifts as these make a good record in the great hereafter for the donors as well as among the people of this world. Deceased was 33 years of age at the time of his death. The afflicted family have the heartfelt sympathy of all.
