J. F. Pohlman aged 79 years, died at the residence of his son in this city on the 16th inst.

DIED - In McGregor, March 16th, 1880, John Frederick Pohlman, aged 79 years and one month.

The deceased was a native of Germany and immigrated to this country in 1865. For a number of years past he has made his home with his son, Fred Pohlman, enjoying remarkable good health, and generally engaged in some light work, whatever took his fancy.

On Tuesday morning he went out to the yard and commenced shat pulling hoop poles. A short time after he was found dead by Mrs. Fred Pohlman, with the axe lying on his breast. His sudden death has cast a gloom of sorrow over the community, for he was a man greatly loved for his uprightness of character and his true Christian life.

The funeral occurred this morning at the residence, attended by a large concourse of friends and acquaintances.
