Elkader Register, Thur., 16 Jan. 1890. From the Strawberry Point column, which the papers correspondent dated 14 Jan. 1890.

Mr. Doud, proprietor of Doud's mill near this place, dropped dead on Saturday last. It is supposed his death was caused by apoplexy. He was in town Friday in apparent good health, and the news of his death was a sad surprise to his many friends at this place. His wife died about two years ago, and since that time he has been living with his daughter, Mrs. Doud.
