Elkader Register, Thur., 14 July 1898.

The remains of Mrs. Anna Mary Broehl arrived in the city Monday from Grundy Center, Iowa, where she had been living with her daughter, Mrs. Catherine Crary, since October last. The funeral services occurred in that city but her body was brought here for interment in the Catholic cemetery. Deceased was born in Germany in 1812 and emigrated to America with her husband and family about 1854, remaining a few months at Dubuque, but later coming to Clayton County and locating on the farm in Cox Creek, where her son, Peter Broehl, now resides, and which was her home until October last, her husband having departed this life in the sixties.
