Another death from diphtheria occurred on Wednesday morning, when Bert Shafenstein, the five year old son of Mrs. Mary Sharfenstein, died at the home of his grandmother, Mrs. Geo. Prindle. Six families are in quarantine.

Note: The 1895 Iowa State Census, 3rd Ward, city of Mcgregor enumerated Herbert SCHARFENSTEIN, age 5, born WI; living in the George & Dorleski Prindle household with his mother Mary Scharfenstein (age 31, b. Clayton co., widowed) and siblings Florence (age 8, b. WI) and Evan (age 6, b. WI)
