Elkader Register, Fri., 26 June 1896. Littleport column.

F. Cornelius, Sr., died Monday after a lingering illness. He was quite an old man, an old settler, and a honest, upright citizen. He leaves an aged wife and large family of grown children to mourn his death. The funeral will be held Wednesday and the remains laid to rest in the Littleport cemetery.
