Elkader Register, Fri., 26 June 1896. Strawberry Point column.

On Saturday at 10 o'clock occurred the funeral of Mrs. Perry Clough. For some time she has suffered from a tumor and three weeks before her death, it was removed. She leaves a husband and a daughter about twelve years old to mourn her loss.

(WPA records indicate, Emma D. Clough, 1851 - 18 June 1896, buried in Strawberry Point cemetery.)
