Catherine Lytle was born in Morgan County, Ohio, Feb. 28th, 1825, and died at her home in Elk twp., March 4th, 1896. Deceased was married to Philp Fishel at Findlay, Ohio, April 5th, 1840. In 1850 she moved to Clayton County with her husband, locating in the neighborhood where they have since lived. She united with the M.E. church in 1856 and has been a consistent Christian for forty years. She leaves beside her aged husband, three grown children. Levi W., who resides near the old homestead; Sarah J., wife of John L. Riser, of Greeley, Iowa; and John, of St. Paul, Minn.; all of whom were with her during her last few hours. The funeral was held from the family residence March 6th, the services being conducted by Rev. B. D. Alden, of Colesburg, assisted by Rev. Herman Wessel, of Wood, the interment being at Edgewood.
