Roy Robert Pady, 95, died March 17, 2019, at the Elkader Care Center.

Roy was born on July 29, 1923, to Arthur and Elizabeth Pady, in Washburn, WI. His growing up years were spent on his family's dairy farm. He attended Progress Elementary School, one-room country school, and graduated from Ondostgan High, a small country high school. He attended two years of college in River Falls, WI, but then returned to the farm to help out as World War II was going on.

In 1945, Roy joined the Army, training at Ft. Lewis, Washington, before being send [sic] to Germany where he was stationed from 1946 through the ends of the war in 1948.

On April 19, 1948, Roy married the love of his life, Kornelia (Connie) Nedecey-Ruszak, a beautiful Hungarian girl who was cashiering at the PX. Their marriage lasted 65 years until her passing in 2013.

Upon returning to the United States, Roy and Connie returned to River Falls, and Roy completed his college education. He taught vocational agriculture to returning veterans and then joined Northrup King and Company as a sales representative. During this time the couple had three daughters: Cornelia (Cory), Clara and Carla. Clara only lived for one year.

Roy moved the family to Osage, Iowa, where he lived and worked until 1961. When Roy was promoted to district manager, the family moved to Dennison, Iowa. Because of the extensive traveling for his work, Roy made the decision to change careers. He took college courses to be certified to teach in Iowa.

In 1964, Roy became a high school teacher, teaching vocational agriculture, shop, and FFA. He taught in Manilla and Mason, IA. Then in 1969, Roy moved to Elkader to teach for several years at the high school. He then taught a year in Wilton, Ia, and worked again as a seed corn salesman. Roy and Connie moved back to Elkader upon Roy's retirement.

......loved living in Elkader with its beautiful people and equally beautiful scenery and often exclaimed "This is God's country!". Roy did not wish to have a funeral. However, there will be a family memorial in Washburn, WI at a future time.
