Elkader Register, Fri., 06 Sept. 1895. Strawberry Point column.
On Wednesday morning, August 28th, Mr. Qigley was found dead in his room at the Blake House. He had been under the doctor's care for several days, though it was not generally understood that there was any danger. He had been engaged in the shoemaker's trade here for about two years. Nothing was known of his friends or relatives and by searching his papers it was found that he had a sister in Waterloo. She was informed of his death and she and her husband came for the funeral which was held on Thursday in the M.E. church.
