Mrs. Eggeman, aged 83 years, died at the residence of her son Jacob Eggeman, in this twp., Monday, the funeral being held Thursday.

The subject of this sketch, Mrs. Verena Eggiman nee Mosiman, died Monday evening, June 10th, 1895.
She was born in October, 1823, in Wasen, Canton Bern, Switzerland, and in 1839 married Jacob Eggiman.
While living in Wasen eight children were born, six of whom survive her, viz; Mrs. Michael Walter, of Wagner, Jacob, of Boardman twp., Fred, of Jackson, Minn., Mrs. Chas Lembke, of Griswold, Iowa, and Rudolf of Carbon, Iowa.
In 1862 she with her husband and children came to this country and settled near Elgin, Ia., where her husband died in September of the first year of their residence there.
In the winter of 1863-4 she moved to this township where she has resided until death called. Besides the six children she leaves twenty-six grand children to mourn her loss. The funeral was held on Thursday, June 13th, in the Wagner church, the services being conducted by Rev. F. I. Stevens, of Elkader.
