Elkader Register, Thur., 28 Mar. 1895.
With sorrow we chronicle the death of little Anna Blanche Mahr, one of Elkader's choicest flowers, which sad event occurred early last Sabbath morn at the home of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Mahr. Her age was nearly 10 years, her death being caused by tuberculous peritonitis, after several days of acute suffering and despite the counsel and care of several physicians.
The funeral on Tuesday was largely attended, her companions of the Sister's school attending, with six of them, dressed in white, serving as pall bearers. The last solemn rites were held at the Catholic church, and then the mortal remains of this sweet little girl, so dearly precious to her parents, were laid to rest.
The bereaved parents have the sympathy of one and all in their sorrowful affliction.
