Elkader Register, Thur., 21 Feb. 1895.

DIED - At her home in Farmersburg twp., on Monday, Feb. 18, 1895, Sophia, wife of Albert Lenth, aged about 20 years, of confinement. She is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. F. W. Wilke of this twp., and a niece of H. W. Wilke of Elkader. After only a short wedded life she has departed leaving her young husband disconsolate and the family mourning. Language fails in its expression of sympathy and consolation. The funeral was held yesterday at Clayton Centre, Rev. Father Seifert officiating.

Note: Census & other records give her name as Ann or Anna rather than Sophia. She did have an older sister named Sophia (census). Albert's obit does not mention her but the announcement of the marriage of Anna Wilke & Albert Lenth was published in the local paper, the marriage occurring 12/15/1893. The marriage is also recorded in the Clayton county Return of Marriages.
