At Dubuque, on Sunday evening last, where he had gone for treatment, occurred the death of John Byrnes, of Cox Creek, at the age of about 38 years. Deceased was the son of James Byrnes, and a highly respected young man. Some two years ago he was attacked by la grippe which brought on heart disease from which he died. On Oct. 6, 1885, he was united in marriage to Sarah Jane Quinn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Quinn of this place, who with five children mourn the loss of a devoted husband and father. The funeral was held at the Cox Creek church on Tuesday, Jan. 15, Rev. Father Rowe officiating, and was attended by a large number of the sympathizing friends of the family.
