Elkader Register, Thur., 10 Jan. 1895.
At St. Olaf, at 1 a.m., Jan. 2d, 1895, occurred the death, of brain fever, of Maybel, infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Carney, aged 7 months. She was sick but a few days, but suffered more than tongue can tell until the angel of death hovered around and bore her away on its white wing of love to the happy world above, where pain and suffering is no more. She was a loving and beautiful child, and was loved by all who knew or saw her. She will be greatly missed at home and at grandma's. The entire community sympathize with the bereaved parents.
The funeral took place Friday, Jan. 4th, at 10 a.m., and she was laid to rest in the Norwegian cemetery.
