Elkader Register, 03 Jan. 1895. Littleport column.

Chris Behrens Sr. was buried Saturday after a lingering illness, at the advanced age of 81 years. He was an old settler and was an honest, upright citizen.

(Note: An IGPP gravestone photo indicates Christian Behrens Sr., 12 Nov. 1812 / 25 Dec. 1894, buried in Musfeldt cemetery.)
