Elkader Register, Thur., 05 Oct. 1893. Garnavillo column.

Died on Thursday, Sept. 28th, 1893, at her home in Read township, Adeline Ihde, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. August Ihde, at the tender age of 2 years and one month. Thus another home hath been made desolate by the ruthless destroyer, who makes no distinction between old and young, rich and poor. Little Adeline was the joy and pride of her parents, but death claimed her to swell the unnumbered throng of angels, which sing anthems of praise around the great white throne. Our heartfelt sympathies are with the stricken parents, who have buried their only one, Their pride and joy. May they find consolation in the thought that their darling is now relieved of cares and woes. Her remains were buried in the new cemetery on Sunday afternoon.
