Mrs. Marie Sophia Scherf died Sunday night. She was born Oct. 31, 1831, in Klein-Beuster, province of Saxony, Germany, where her husband preceded her in death in 1876. In 1887 she came to America with her son John, leaving two sons, Robert and Wilhelm, behind. One daughter, Mrs. Marie Reuter, resides in Manley, Iowa, and the youngest daughter, Louise, is yet unmarried. Two older children died and were buried in Germany. The funeral occurred Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock.
