Elkader Register, Thur., 26 July 1894. Osterdock column.
We are sorry to relate the sad accident that befell Hall Barnhart. While trimming out tree tops at Mr. Peck's, near Colesburg, Thursday evening, the 18th, so the wind could get through to the windmill to make the mill operate, a limb on which he stood broke and he fell about 25 feet, striking on his head, fracturing his skull and killing him instantly. He was a member of the I.O.O.F. lodge of Colesburg and was buried Saturday in due form by the order, which took charge of the funeral. The remains were laid to rest in the Brown's cemeteryy.
