Elkader Register, Thur., 19 Apr. 1923. St. Olaf column.

A very large funeral took place in Gunder Church Sunday, April 8th, in the afternoon. The large church was filled. Mrs. Milla Josephine Reierson was buried that day. She was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ingebritt Skarshaug. She was born July 30th, 1896 and baptized Sept. 13th the same year. She was confirmed June 11th, 1911. At 20 years of age she was married to Cornelius Reierson of Marion Twp. The marriage was blessed with two children, Marvien Clarien, born Aug. 21st, 1917 and Lloyd Everet born in 1920. She died in La Crosse, Wis., after an operation. Rev. Kvammen from near Decorah, lead the worship at the house and also spoke briefly at the church, and her pastor, Rev. Arveson, who had confirmed her and also performed the marriage ceremony, when she was married, preached from the pulpit and also officiated at the grave. The text was: John 13:7 "What I do, thou knowest not now; but thou shalt understand hereafter."

The departed was loved not only by her dear husband and children, by her dear parents, and two sisters, Myrtle and Luella and by her three brothers, Harvey, Andy and Oliver, but by all. She was a good kind lady, she took pride in making her home what it should be, she loved the church, attended her church and she was a good worker in the societies in the church. She will be missed, but we do believe and hope, that what has been our great loss is her great gain. Therefore weep not, she has gone to her celestial home above.

Weep not, my Redeemer lives,
High above the dark earth ascending.
Hope her heavenly comfort gives,
Faith stands by, her shield extending.
Love eternal whispers near
Child of God, no longer fear.
