John Haltmeyer was born in Austria, Germany, Jan. 20th, 1828. He came to this country in 1854, having been a resident of this country 43 years. He was a man of self principal and beloved in universal brotherhood of man.

He died of dropsy, after an illness of about four weeks. He died Aug. 12th at the age of 69 years, 6 months and 23 days. He was buried in Pleasant Grove cemetery.

He leaves seven children to mourn his loss, three sons and four daughters. The family desires to thank their many friends and neighbors for their many deeds of kindness during the death of their father.
