Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 17 Oct. 1918. Garnavillo column,

Clarence Henry Mueller, the youngest child of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Mueller, was born Feb. 21, 1899, and died on Saturday morning, Oct. 5, after an illness of one week, death being due to pneumonia.

He attended the public school, graduating in 1915, and the following year he graduated from the Guttenberg high school. He was a very bright and industrious scholar and later continued his education by attending Iowa State Teacher's College during the winter terms of 1916 and 1918. His vacations were spent on the farms of his brothers, Elmer and Albert, where he assisted with the farm work. In September of this year he entered the Bayless Business College and took up a course in banking. On Sept. 28 he came home and soon after was taken sick. Everything possible was done for him but to no avail.

He had reached the age of 19 years, 7 months and 14 days. He is mourned by his father, his sister Selma, and two brothers, Albert and Elmer. His mother preceded him in death in 1911.

Funeral services were held on Monday afternoon at St. Peter's church, Rev. Bosholm officiating.
