Frank Wood was born near Albany, Wis., Aug. 20, 1864, and was the youngest son of John and Clarissa Wood. In June 1867 he came to Iowa with Mr. Strong and family with whom he lived and grew to manhood in Richland township, Delaware county. He was united in marriage to Miss Clara H. Hebron on June 26, 1888. To this union five children were born, one dying in infancy, Phillip and Flora at home, Flora of Savage, Montana, and Robert, who was killed on the Mexican border two years ago. The last years of his life were spent in Strawberry Point until two years ago when the family returned to the farm home southeast of town, where he passed away on Monday, May 20, 1918, at the age of fifty-three years and nine months. Services were held at the home Wednesday, May 22, Rev. Wells officiating. The services at the grave were in charge of the Strawberry Point Lodge No. 130 A.F. & A.M. of which he had long been a member. Interment took place in Strawberry Point cemetery.
