Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 26 July 1917. Farmersburg column.

Again the angel of death has visited our community, this time taking a loving wife and mother, Mrs. Ira Moon. The funeral was held at the Roberts Creek church, Thursday, July 19, at 2 p.m. We sympathize with the bereft husband.

Relatives from a distance who attended the funeral of Mrs. Ira Moon are: Mr. and Mrs. Len Sebation, Gladys and Ruby Henkes of Cresco, Mr. and Mrs. Will Lenth, Mrs. Mary Seerey and daughter, of Chicago; and Mr. Frank Moon and daughter, Hazel, of Mason City.

Elkader Register & Argus, Thur., 02 Aug. 1917. Farmersburg column.

Mrs. Iva Moon, nee Reardon, was born December 29, 1892 and died at her home, July 17th, 1917, at the age of 24 years, 6 months and 18 days. She was married to Ira J. H. Moon, December 29, 1914 in Wagner township. Her short life was spent in this community. Graduating from the district school of Wagner township. She had a loving disposition. Her chair will be empty and she will be greatly missed by all but most by him with whom she joined hands in holy matrimony. She was the oldest child of Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Reardon and leaves to mourn besides husband, an infant son of 12 days, father, mother, one brother and one sister who are, nevertheless, not mourning without blessed hope of meeting again in that heavenly home above.

(Note: WPA records indicate Iva R. Moon, 29 Dec. 1893 - 16 July 1917, buried in Gooding cemetery. Also see the dual headstone on the IGPP.)
