Henry Krieg was born at Communia, Clayton County, Iowa, October 18th, 1853, and died at his home in Elkader, Iowa, January 3rd, 1917, at 5:40 p.m., aged 64 years, 2 months and 16 days. He was a son of John and Magdalena Krieg.

He was married March 17th, 1878, to Miss Louisa Braudt at Dubuque, and a year after marriage they moved to Kansas, but only stayed in that country one year, coming back to the township of Littleport. Soon after this they moved to a farm in Communia, where they lived until 1912, when they moved to Elkader.

He is survived by his faithful wife, five children, Adolph, living at Communia, Henry, Alma, Helmuth and Mrs. Anna Krieg Walker, all of Elkader; also eight grandchildren, one brother and four sisters. Three of his children have preceded him in Death.

Mr. Krieg has been in poor health for almost two years and his death, while a shock and sorrow to his family and friends, was not wholly unexpected. His last days were made as comfortable and free from care as a devoted wife and children could make them.

The funeral is to be tomorrow (Friday) at ten o'clock a.m. from the Ev. Frieden's Church in Elkader, Rev. Isaac Cassel officiating. Burial will be at Mederville cemetery.
