Dr. Jason Daniel Kinsley, 77, of 1732 C avenue NE, who practiced dentistry in Linn county 53 years, died at the home of his son, Guy D. Kinsley, at 5 a.m. Wednesday after a year's illness.

Born Dec. 16, 1874, on a Pleasant Ridge farm near McGregor, he completed high school in McGregor, then attended Breckenridge institute at Decorah. After teaching in rural schools several terms he studied dentistry at the University of Iowa, receiving his degree in 1898.

After practicing dentistry 26 years at Lisbon, he moved to Cedar Rapids, where he continued his profession 27 years, until his retirement a year ago.

Affiliated with Westminister Presbyterian church, Dr. Kinsley taught a Sunday school class there almost 22 years. He was a member of Mizpah lodge 639, A.F. and A.M., a 32nd degree Mason; Iowa Consistory, El Kahir Shrine, a life member of both state and national dental societies and Linn County Dental Society. He served on the school board at Lisbon.

Surviving are two sons, Bruce, treasurer of the Hawaiian Pineapple Company, Honolulu, and Guy, of Cedar Rapids; two sisters, Mrs. Amanda K. Renshaw of Toledo, Ohio and Mrs. L.N. Kramer of Los Angeles; a brother, R.G. Kinsley of McGregor; and a granddaughter, Mary Kathryn Kinsley of Cedar Rapids.

He was married in 1903 to Mary Naomi Fouse, who preceded him in death.

Services will be conducted in the Turner chapel at 1:30 p.m. Friday by the Rev. Andrew Kurth of Westminster church, and Mizpah lodge. Burial will be in the Lisbon cemetery at Lisbon.

All Master Masons are asked to meet with Mizpah lodge at the Masonic hall at 1 p.m. Friday to attend the service.
