Jane Moon was born in Peru, N.Y., March 2nd, 1823, and died at her farm home in Highland township Sept. 10th, 1909. She was married to Joseph Sherman in Ellenburg, N.Y., in the year 1838. To them were born nine children, three of whom, Edwin, Julia and Alonzo, together with their father, preceded her to the grave. Those living are Robert, Ben, Wylls, Lyman, Lydia and Elizabeth and all were at her bedside when she died. Mrs. Sherman was brought up by Methodist parents and was a member of the Volga congregation since its organization.
