Funeral services were held at the Methodist church here Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock for Mrs. Keziah Phillips, who passed away Tuesday at the home of her daughter, Mrs. L. A. Culbertson, in Greeley. Rev. Pease, pastor of the M.E. church of Greeley, officiated at the services here. Interment was made in the family lot in Hillcrest cemetery.
The casket was borne by Lloyd, Edwin and Oren Phillips, of Des Moines; Robert Culbertson of Greeley; Ed Bissell of Edgewood and Frank Phillips of Volga.
Keziah Bissell, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Bissell, was born at Taylorsville, Iowa, on Feb. 9, 1854. On February 20, 1870, she was married to Orrin S. Phillips of Volga. His death occurred in August, 1921.
Three children were born: Mrs. Minnie Culbertson of Greeley; Leon D. Phillips of Des Moines, and Earl Phillips, who preceded her in death. There are five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Two sisters, Mrs. Mary Tinkham and Mrs. Nancy Campbell, preceded her in death, as well as a brother, Ed Bissell, of Edgewood. Four half-sisters survive, Mrs. Carrie Leete, of Dowd, Mont.; Mrs. Ida Robinson, of Edgewood; Mrs. Bessie Voshell, of Volga; and Mrs. Mattie Chapel of Wyoming.
