Mrs. Lathrop, nee Jennie Taylor, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Taylor, was born April 9, 1870, at Center Point, Iowa. When a small child she came with her parents to Strawberry Point, where she lived her entire life with the exception of a few months. She attended and graduated from the Strawberry Point High school and taught for a brief time. She was married to Lloyd G. Lathrop, July 21, 1892, at Greeley, Colo. She was affiliated with various social organizations of the town at different times and was a member of the First Baptist church. She had not been well for several months and went about six months ago to the home of her daughter, Mrs. R. G. Beneke, in Cedar Rapids, where she was most tenderly cared for. She quietly went to sleep Friday evening after a happy day and awakened in the "Morning Land" a few hours later. Surviving are her husband and four children: Howard T. Lathrop of Thompson; Lloyd L. Lathrop and Mrs. R. G. (Cora) Beneke of Cedar Rapids, and Joe H. Lathrop of Strawberry Point, also four grandchildren.
