Clayton County Register, Thur., 31 May 1934.

MONONA: Miss Marie Goerges, aged fifty-one years, died Monday noon in the home of her aunt, Mrs. August H. Meyer, where for several years she had been a patient sufferer. Mrs. Meyer was more than a mother to her during the time of her intense suffering and did all that could be done for her. She is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Louis Gilster of near Monona and Miss Bertha Goerges of Minneapolis, and also two brothers. Funeral services were held Thursday at one o'clock from the Meyer home and the Lutheran church in Garnavillo at two o'clock, with burial in the Garnavillo cemetery.
