Clayton County Register, Thur., 01 Mar. 1934.

Anna Rosina Schumacher was born in Garnavillo, July 29, 1862. Her parents were Wm. Thoma and Margaret Poesch. Her entire life-time was spent in this community.

She was united in marriage with W. C. Schumacher of Garnavillo, Dec. 31, 1879, at Wyalusing, Wis. Her four children are living.

After occupying a farm several years, Mr. and Mrs. Schumacher took up their residence in town. Both died in this residence, the former on Dec. 23, 1926, and the latter on Feb., 22, 1934, after having reached the age of 71 years, seven months and twenty-four days.

Mrs. Schumacher had not been well for several months but, like her brother, Chris Thoma, who was buried three weeks ago, seemed improved in health for a short while, being able to assume her household duties. However, on Wednesday, her grandson, Oliver C. Schultz, who made his home with her for many years, found her lying upon her bed when he came in for his evening meal. Help was summoned at once, but she did not revive from the state of coma in which she was discovered. She passed away the following afternoon.

She maintained her connection with St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran church, after being baptized there November 16, 1862, and confirmed on Easter, 1876, and became a charter member of the Ladies Aid when it was organized.

She leaves her sons, Wm. F., Orlando F., Lawrence H., of Garnavillo, a daughter, Mrs. Frank Schultz, Clayton; two sisters, Mrs. Paulina Schroeder, Guttenberg, and Mrs. Marie Tangeman, Garnavillo, together with numerous grandchildren, many relatives and friends. Funeral services at St. Paul's Sunday p.m., conducted by Rev. M. J. Harder. Interment at Garnavillo cemetery.
