WILLIAM "BILL" RICHARD LELIEFELD Guttenberg William "Bill" Richard Leliefeld, 81, of Guttenberg, Iowa, died Thursday, June 10, 2021, at Guttenberg Municipal Hospital in Guttenberg. He was born one of 15 children on May 21, 1940, in Guttenberg, the son of Daniel and Rose (Kleine) Leliefeld. Bill graduated from St. Mary's Catholic High School in 1958 and later served in the U.S. Army from May of 1963 till he received his honorable discharge on April 8, 1965. On Nov. 5, 1966, Bill was united in marriage with Rita Amundson at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Guttenberg and the couple was blessed with three children. For over 30 years, Bill worked for John Deere Dubuque Works till he retired in 1995. Bill is survived by his wife of 54 years, Rita; three children, Stacey Peterson, Daniel Leliefeld and Robert Leliefeld; five grandchildren, Justin and Trey Peterson, Jaden Leliefeld, and Jaxson and Jilliann Leliefeld; one sister, Lois Goerdt; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; and 13 siblings, Norman Leliefeld, Dorothy Knudtson, Bernard Leliefeld, Vera Mirocko, Opal Goerdt, Mary Sherriff, Kathleen Leliefeld, Pat Bolsinger, Carol Leliefeld, Gary Leliefeld, Betty Leliefeld, Joan White and Katie Ben. Arrangements are being handled by Tuecke-Allyn Funeral Home, 207 S. First St., Guttenberg. The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Guttenberg. Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 15, at St. Mary's Catholic Church, the Rev. Michael Mescher will officiate.
