At the advanced age of 83 years, 8 months and 8 days, Mrs. Anna Maria Meier passed away Sunday, Aug. 6, 1905, at the home of her son, Wm. Nolte, in this city. Deceased was born in the village of Bischhagen, Parochv Siemerode, Krise Heihgenstadt in the Province of Prussia, Nov. 28, 1821, where she grew to womanhood. She was united in marriage in the year 1842 to William Nolte, and to them eleven children were born. Of this number but two are living, namely, William Nolte and Mrs. Elizabeth Jacobs, residents of Guttenberg. Deceased, with her husband, emigrated to America in 1845, when a short time after Mr. Norte died. She was married again in 1861 to Otto Meier and to this union one child was born, a daughter, who died when about five years of age and was followed to the grave in 1877 by her father. Besides the two children living, deceased leaves nineteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. There are also surviving her two sisters and one brother, viz., Mrs. Sophia Shaeffers, Elkhorn, Ill., Mrs. Christina Roehl and George Kohlmeier, St. Louis, Mo. The funeral was held at 2 o'clock p.m. Tuesday from the residence of Wm. Nolte. Atty A. E. Borman made a few appropriate remarks at the house and also at the grave. The funeral was conducted by the Rebekah lodge, of which deceased was a member. Interment was made in the City cemetery.
