Kruse, Caroline Sophia 1840 - 1905

Caroline Sophia, wife of Fritz Kruse, Sr., passed away Monday morning, June 5th, after many months of suffering from cancer of the bowels, her age being 65 years, 3 months and 13 days. Deceased was born in Brunstein, Germany, Feb. 22, 1840, and was married in 1865 to Fritz Kruse. They came to this country in 1875, and lived on a farm near here until a few years ago when they moved into town. Deceased was a life long member of the Lutheran church. Surviving members of the family are the husband and five sons. The sons are: Fred Jr., Luana; Herman, Elkport; John and Lewis, Guttenberg; and George, whose whereabouts at present are not known. Funeral services were held at the Lutheran church yesterday afternoon, conducted by Rev. Jansig, and interment was made in the City cemetery.
