Gratke, Henrietta 1904 - 1905

The death of Henrietta, the youngest child of Fred Gratke and wife, occurred Monday evening. The little one brightened the home Dec. 1st, 1904, its health has always been frail. Who can say or who may tell the gladness and cheer brought by the little innocent and who may prophesy the good the little life has accomplished. The parents hearts, now sad, can only feel the real worth of the life, so soon ended, and none but He who notes the fall "of even the sparrow" can give full measure to the little attainments. May he temper the sorrow of the sad hearts, even as he blessed them in the gifts he gave. Funeral services occurred Wednesday afternoon conducted by Rev. Graf. The sorrowing parents have our sympathy.
